History

As a young man, Paolo began exploring the art of sculpture, experimenting with lead casting.

At just twenty years old, his curiosity led him to travel through South America, Asia, and Australia, where he gathered inspiration, techniques, and especially rough gems. He learned to work with them thanks to the teachings of skilled cutters from India, Madagascar, and Thailand.

His talent and passion took him to New York, where he earned a prestigious degree from the Gemological Institute of America, followed by a specialization in Diamond Grading at the H.R.D in Antwerp.

These international experiences provided him with a unique vision, combining traditional techniques with innovations in the field of jewelry.

In 1984, he returned to his roots: Paolo opened his workshop in Vicenza, dedicating himself to creating sculptures in silver and gold, as well as designing and crafting unique jewelry.

His artistic exploration constantly evolves, leading him to experiment with various materials and techniques. From working with local marbles and stones to creating sculptures that express his unique vision of the world.

His career reached a turning point in 2007 with the presentation of his book “Extradimensionismo,” followed by prestigious exhibitions in Milan, Venice, and Florence.

His artistic journey continued with the “Cosmic Stones” at the Venice Architecture Biennale and Sculpt Miami, and with the “Sidereal Diamonds” at the 2011 Venice Art Biennale.

Paolo Aldighieri's works have been exhibited in prominent locations such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and have been featured in art and jewelry magazines.

In 2021, the Veneto Region awarded Paolo Aldighieri the title of Master Craftsman of the Veneto Region.
